Homies With Houseplants, Ep. 002

I first met Kay at a local brewery here in Durham, North Carolina. She was posted outside in her "Hippie Truck" (pictured above), incense burning, R&B playing, and houseplants BUSSIN'. She was super warm 'n welcoming and has a way of making you feel like you've always known her. To this day, I don't know if I've ever met anyone with a cooler plant set-up!

Quiet as kept, Kay and her family--the good folks over at Haven Farm, all of whom are equally as warm and welcoming--were super influential in me investing more time in What's One More Pothos and deciding how to use this virtual space to create community.

Kay offers consultation services for individuals and businesses. Throughout the year, she hosts Happy Hour at her very own Green House. And if you're in the Raleigh/Durham area, keep an eye out for her workshops and pop-up shops!

For Black History Month, Kay has allowed folks in her community to take over her Instagram account daily with offerings of history/racial injustice, promotion of their businesses and other future endeavors. Go check it out! You might see someone you recognize!
