Hey y’all!

My name is Trey. I occupy the intersection of fried fish / porch sitting / Fantasia’s barefoot antics / communalism / anti-carceral, anti-capitalist politics and doing the chicken-head to every song like it’s still 2001. I am Black and Southern as the day is long. I started collecting vinyl in 2014, and I got into gardening and houseplants shortly after, both as ways to cope with my anxiety.

I inherited my green thumb from my Mama who I consider to be the O.G. Plant Parent. (She's had houseplants since the 70s!) Pothos have always been my favorite variety of houseplant to own because they’re accessible, beautiful, easy to care for and even easier to propagate and share with the homies!

In 2021, I created The Green Room, my personal sanctuary space full of low maintenance houseplants and all the vinyl records I've accumulated over the years. I began inviting others into my space via my instagram in hopes of inspiring folks to create their own sanctuary space, a place where they can feel safe, rested, recharged and creative.

It's nice to meet you! If it sounds like we are in alignment, let's collaborate!

MY GUIDING PRINCIPLES

"You are one person. Gather a couple others if you can. We can only change things collectively [and] the only way to sustain the self is to collectivize care."
